I’m CASEing the layout of this card, focussing on the circle with the image.
I started with a wreath from the Sophisticated Sled bundle stamped in Early Espresso. This took the place of the circle from the original card. The image was coloured in with Crumb Cake, Soft Sea Foam and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends.
Replacing the candles were the skates, stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. This bundle does come with coordinating dies with which you can also build the skates up. I added some extra detail to the soles and blades of the skates with Early Espresso and Basic Gray Watercolour Pencils.
I added the Petal Pink Designer Series Paper and had no intention of creating a vintage card until I added the Wood DSP under it. This naturally lent itself to a more vintage look so I distressed the edges of the DSP with Paper Snips, adding some shading with Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.
I die cut the sled from Pecan Pie Cardstock and cut it apart to add to the top and bottom of my image, replicating the banner (very loosely) in the original project. Placing the strips in this way looks like logs on a fireplace and draws the eye to an inviting space with my focal elements.
A heat embossed sentiment on Early Espresso Cardstock and a Basic Beige ribbon add the finishing touches along with some Drusy sparkle!
