Hello and welcome to the New at SU blog hop for June. Our team is sharing inspiration using the sketches from Page 22 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Have you seen these sketches? A new addition to our catalogue, there’s 22 sketches to inspire your creativity and each one can be interpreted in so many ways.
I’ve chosen this sketch to work with today using the Flower Cart stamp set and coordinating dies.
It’s a chilly winter’s day here in Melbourne and my card is far removed from the reality of the weather with a beautiful spring feel to it. The stamps and dies have several elements which you can use to crreate all variations of the flower cart – both stamped and pieced together with die cuts. I went for a mix, stamping the tray in Basic Beige and distressing the edges with some Crumb Cake ink. Then I added the die cut awning over it.
The wheels and the stand of the cart were die cut from Basic White Cardstock. I blended Crumb Cake ink over the images and stamped the tree ring image from the Textured Timber stamp set over it in Pecan Pie ink to create the wood texture.
I added colour to the stamp directly with a sponge dauber for the different coloured flowers. Then I added some extra shading with a Watercolour Pencil to fill in the white space around the leaves.
The 2 narrow strips on the sketch were swapped out with the flower cart and some die cuts from the Perennial Postage dies. I stamped the pebbled path onto the ribbon for an extra detail to complete that little corner, along with a sign hand written using a White Gel Pen.
I hope this inspires you to use these sketches as you create. Please follow our hop through for lots of inspiration using several of these sketches.
