Pretty Poinsettia Card with Easy Watercolouring Technique

If watercolouring intimidates you then you need to try this technique! I’ve got a simple way to colour these poinsettias which don’t take a great deal of time, is perfect for those beginning in watercolouring and it looks great – BONUS!

First, die cut the poinsettias out of Fluid 100 Cardstock then run it through the die cutting machine with the Impressions Plate. These Poinsettia dies are special Impressions Dies which give you even more texture and detail when used with the Impressions Plate.

Using Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia and a tiny bit of Misty Moonlight ink refills, watercolour the flowers very randomly. Ensure you leave drying time between the colours. The result – gorgeous, softly coloured poinsettias.

Light Pink Hot Foiling adds some beautiful yet subtle shine in the background. A large detailed leaf run through the Impressions Plate, again, adds texture to this simple and elegant focal point.
