Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop this Sunday in Melbourne. I know you’re in for a treat today with this theme. It’s all about fonts.

I know when I create any type of marketing material, I spend most of my time working out what font I want to use, sometimes too much time! It’s that important to a project. Fonts can enhance a particular style and even create a certain mood. For instance if I was making a vintage style card, I would find a nice cursive font. A masculine card would usually be a more bold font. Along with this theme we were also challenged to create a mixed media project. Thank you to my friend Angie McKenzie who always challenges us with fun themes.
Mixed Media for me, would generally take a vintage feel. I changed course on this and went with a brighter look – with a dash of vintage!

The first element I created was the Polished Pink cardstock with the embossing paste added through a mask to create the snowflakes. With the mask still in place, I used my palette knife to roughly add some Polished Pink ink refill over the embossing paste creating a marbled look. At this point, I contemplated what to do next for quite some time as I didn’t know where to go from there! Does that happen to you? I knew I wanted to use that embossed cardstock so I kept going.

The For Unto Us stamp set has some great fonts and I really love the sentiments in it as it encapsulates the true meaning of Christmas. That font on the sentiment is so pretty and with it’s larger size I was able to use it as my focal image.

The snowflake was heat embossed in gold which I did a couple of times. This however still left a bit of white so I coloured these areas in with Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends and I love how it turned out. Next time, I’ll plan to do it like this!
Whimsy & Wonder Designer Series Paper and Kraft cardstock add beautiful touches to this fontsamental card.
