AWOW Blog Hop – Let’s Celebrate

Welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) blog hop for May where our theme this month is ‘Let’s Celebrate’. There are many reasons to celebrate – occasions, events, moments in life, special people, things that make us happy – there’s always something that we can enjoy and celebrate.

With the launch of the new Stampin’ Up! May-August catalogue, I wanted to celebrate our new 2026-2028 In Colors. New colours are always awaited with anticipation each year and this year’s In Colors didn’t disappoint. Into our collection we have added Golden Glow, Crisp Cantaloupe, Hydrangea Hue, Peaceful Pine and Barely Blush. Have you got a favourite amongst these?

On my card, I’ve combined the Painted Patterns Designer Series Paper and the Bloom Boutique Designer Series Paper which incorporates the In Colors, to create the base of my card. I’ve also added a strip of the Artisan Sketched Garden Designer Series Paper, alternating the stripes and dots with the opposite design from the Painted Patterns DSP. The Black and White detail provides a nice contrast against the other colours.

The Boutique Blossoms bundle is a two-step stamp set which is part of the Bloom Boutique Suite. The flowers and leaves were stamped in two-step stamping with the In Colors adding the fill image. For the Peaceful Pine flower, I stamped-off first as I felt the colour was quite intense in first generation stamping. Then each flower was detailed with the coordinating Stampin’ Blend to add more depth in the centre petals. I really liked the extra definition this added.

A combination of stamped and die cut Peaceful Pine leaves, die cut white and black leaves fill out around the flower. I messed around a bit with the combination of leaves as not one leaf on it’s own really worked with the size of the flower. When I started putting all the different sizes of leaves together they balanced the arrangement better. Adding the black leaves just tied it all together well, especially working with the little Black and White DSP strip on the side.

I used a very old punch to punch out the birthday sentiment however you could easily replicate those corners by trimming the ends at an angle.

While there are some beautiful embellishments in the new In Colors I felt that adding the Metallic Gems provided a nice accent. Finally, coordinating ribbon added a softness to each card, completing my batch of In Color cards.

I hope you have enjoyed my selection of cards showcasing some of our new products. A supply list is below and is available in my Online Store Australia wide. You can also download the free tutorial below.

Next on our hop is Cheryll Miller from South Australia who will have something beautiful to share with you.
