Caseing the Catty CTC513 – Beautiful Bokeh Suite

Welcome to the Caseing the Catty Challenge where this week for challenge CTC513 the crew are Caseing the Beautiful Bokeh Suite from the Stampin’ Up! January – April Mini Catalogue.

What does it mean to CASE? It is to Copy and Selectively Edit a project, be inspired by it to make it your own.

I CASEd the sketch from the card below however I altered the layout of the focal image.

The 2023-2025 In-Colors will be leaving us in April and I felt I really hadn’t given Moody Mauve a good run. Although when it first came out I thought it would be the colour I used the most, it has been the colour I used the least so I wanted to feature it on this card. That’s how my colour palette was chosen – with Moody Mauve as my base.

I started with cutting 3 panels of Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper and layering it on Early Espresso Cardstock. These were layered onto a Moody Mauve panel embossed with the new embossing folder – Damask Designs, from the upcoming Annual Catalogue. I blended around the edge of this panel with some Moody Mauve ink to create some depth and variation between it and the card base.

The flowers and leaves are from the Online Exclusives Everyday You & Me bundle. To achieve the two-tone look, I inked up in the lighter colour and then added the darker colour with a Sponge Dauber. This is such a fun and easy technique and creates beautiful results.

With Mother’s Day just a few weeks away I added this sweet sentiment from the Flower Cart sentiment, using the background stripe stamp from the Everyday You & Me stamp set to stamp on the back of it with Bubble Bath ink, stamped off. I also stamped the flower on each corner for a tone-on-tone look.
