On page 16-17 of the Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue, you will find a display of our Mix & Match products. I just love the projects on these pages and the Ephemera Packs that are offered in this catalogue are beautiful. For today’s CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC487 we are CASEing a project from these pages.
I CASEd the card bases which are shown on these pages. The Gold Dipped Mix & Match Cards & Envelopes are perfectly coordinated for our range of ephemera and will create quick cards. However, I set about creating my own card bases using inks and embossing powder.
To create this effect you need 2 ink colours from the same colour range – blues, reds, pinks etc. I started with a piece of Basic White Cardstock.
Blend Blueberry Bushel ink lightly with a Blending Brush about halfway across the Cardstock
Swip the Blueberry Bushel ink pad lightly down the Cardstock (use the edge of the ink pad without a lip)
Turn the Cardstock around and repeat the swiping so the ink is applied well on the opposite end too.
Next, swipe the Night of Navy ink pad top to bottom and repeat from bottom to top. This section will be larger than the Blueberry Bushel area.
Dry completely or use heat gun to speed up the drying process
Swipe the Versamark ink pad along the edge of Cardstock to create an uneven border.
Heat emboss in Gold. I repeated this process a couple more times to get a thicker edge.
For this card I also added a little bit of Balmy Blue fading out towards the left edge.
I used the edge of the largest frame from the Radiating Stitches dies to create a border from Night of Navy Cardstock. This was adhered to a strip of Designer Series Paper from the A Little Bit Festive pack of specialty paper. This pack contains 3 sheets of double sided paper and 3 sheets of die cuts, some of which I used on this card.
One of the die cut wreaths was cut in half and added under my border strips. I just love the little drums from these die cuts which are super cute. The white layer was adhered to a Blueberry Bushel matte layer which I blended Blueberry Bushel ink around to create a contrast from the card base.
A Gold ribbon and some peppermint embellishments complete this fun card. I love how the stripes on the peppermints worked in with the stripes on my paper.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you try this fun technique and see what fun colour palettes you create. Next on our hop is Michelle Strazds.

With the launch of a new catalogue last Tuesday, this week’s CTC 486 CASEing the Catty Challenge is to CASE the Stampin’ Up! September-December Mini Catalogue.
I can’t go past a sketch so I picked this card from Page 30 which uses the Nests of Winter Suite. I substituted the products with the Regal Winter suite.
My colour palette was determined by the sheet of Regal Winter Designer Series Paper I chose for my card which had rich hues of blue and purple on it.
I started by stamping the flowers and leaves, choosing 2 coordinating colours to create depth and more cohesiveness with the Designer Series Paper. The flowers were inked in Gorgeous Grape and then I added Night of Navy direct to the stamp with a Blending Brush before stamping each flower. I did the same with the leaves using Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.
I clustered the flowers and leaves with some additional foliage from the Thoughtful Wishes dies. These were die cut from a Basic White Cardstock panel blended with Night of Navy, Gorgeous Grape and Smoky Slate ink. This technique provides beautiful shading on leaves and I was able to coordinate it to the leaves on the Designer Series Paper.
The patterned paper was layered onto a panel of Gorgeous Grape which had been blended with Night of Navy ink. This made the Cardstock tone better with the DSP. To resemble the white panel on the original card I added a thin strip of Silver Foil.
Behind the flowers I added a label from the Regal Flora dies which I die cut from another sheet of Regal Winter DSP. I cut this in half and offset it and arranged the flowers around it. A heat embossed sentiment in silver and some pearls complete this card.
I hope you consider adding the stunning Regal Winter suite to your collection. It includes specialty paper as well and with a range of sentiments, you will find many ways to create with it.

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and for CTC484. Today we get to CASE anything from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. Well, you know when the there is such a large selection, it’s harder to make a choice!
I really loved the ‘You inspire me’ square card on Page 74 of the catalogue. There are so many elements in this card to be inspired by such as the background stamping, layout or square card.
What I really loved in this card was the colour palette so I selected these colours for my card.
I flipped the colours around a bit, making Summer Splash the predominant colour. The matte layer was embossed with the Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder and I added some ink blending over it in Summer Splash to highlight some of those embossed leaves.
The leaves were stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolour Cardstock. I stamped 2 leaves in Saddle Brown Stazon ink and watercoloured them in Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Wild Wheat using ink refills.
The larger leaf was stamped in Calypso Coral onto Fluid 100 Cardstock. Then I added some Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat onto the stamp using a Water Painter. As the stamp set is photopolymer, I was able to align the image over the previously stamped image. The slight dampness which was on the Water Painter was sufficient to create movement on the ink and create some areas of deeper colour.
Some glimmer die cut sprigs from the Flowers of Beauty Dies were added inbetween the watercoloured leaves and placed on a die cut circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies. I added some tone-on-tone shading with Petal Pink around the circle.
A heat embossed sentiment on black and some Drusy Adhesive Backed Embellishments (from the upcoming catalogue) complete this card.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to try some of these techniques. Please leave a comment as you follow through to see Monique Fielder’s project.

Hello friends, Welcome to our CASEing the Catty Challenge and this week we are CASEing this fun sketch which is on Page 25 of the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.
I’ve created a Christmas card using the Golden Greenery bundle which is part of our Online Exclusives collection.
The suite this bundle is part of includes some beautiful Designer Series Paper which is in tones of green and I wanted to give this card a slightly softer look by changing the colours. Of course, I went with pink!
I created 2 square frames using the Stylish Shapes dies and added a piece of Graceful Greenery Vellum behind it. I love how the Vellum adds that softness while still being able to see the Bright and Beautiful Designer Series Paper behind it. From 6th – 31st August you can get this paper and several others on sale at 15% discount so make sure to hop back and check that out.
The outline of the bells were stamped in Petunia Pop, stamped off and the main image was stamped in Pretty in Pink, stamped off. I added detail onto the bells with Watercolour Pencils. I die cut some leaves from Basic White Cardstock and blended a range of colours to add some shading to them, trimming them down so they fit around they bells.
A trio of white flowers, coloured with Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends, layered together, created the flower which is on top of a bow which was also made from Bright & Beautiful DSP.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this alternate take with this bundle. Let me know what you think of it by leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you.

Hello friends, Welcome to CASEing the Catty Challenge CTC479. To CASE is to Copy and Selectively Edit and this week we are CASEing the Mediterranean Blooms Suite from Page 34 of the Annual Catalogue.
I’m CASEing the card on the top right with the frame and the 2 features of lemons on either corner. I’ve swapped out the lemons for the flowers from the Enduring Beauty Stamp Set. This stamp set comes with a set of dies and masks. For my card, I coloured the image with Stampin’ Blends wanting to create a riot of bright colourful flowers (trying to combat our cold winter!).
I used the same background frame from the Citrus Blooms dies, die cutting the image out 3 times and layering to create depth in the frame. As this was an intricate die I adhered an Adhesive Sheet to the back of Basic White Cardstock prior to cutting the die cuts which made this a much easier task.
I then die cut my floral image with the outer frame so it kept the same shape as the frame, adding some extra flowers and leaves for depth. This was a new technique for me and I really enjoyed it. Hope you give it a try.
I used the outer part of the frame to die cut the Full of Life Designer Series Paper and adhered the layered white frame onto it. On the card base I added a matte layer of embossed Berry Burst cardstock which was blended with Berry Burst ink for a deeper shade adding shadow and depth.
A simple sentiment completes my card along with some shiny sequins.
Our Bonus Days promotion runs until 31st July. Every $90 you spend in store will earn you a $9 coupon which you can redeem in August. Shopping List for this project can be found at the end of this post.
